Beer Fund Raising : 15 - 16 Dec 2007
It's the weekend of the Awesome Foursomes as the Top 4 clubs face off each other. I bet all the lower teams would hope that the 4 clubs cancel each other out with respective draws as that would give the rest of the clubs a chance to close in on them.
There are few similarities in the two Sunday clash. First is both Chelsea and ManUtd have the advantage of fresher legs as they have already consolidated their Champions League group position even before coming into the final game at midweek.
Second is while both clubs have the edge in this aspect, they are both playing away.
Lastly, it will be a game of a club with an aging club against a more youthful one.
Question is, will the results be similar too?
Anyway, heading over to Roy Keane's WPI, if 40 points is what it would take to survive relegation, then by simple arithmetic, a club should have at least 20 points by the time they get to the halfway mark of 19 games, which right now is 3 games away.
Sunderland currently stands at 13 which is 2 wins and a draw away.
Sounds simple and achievable enough but yet at Sunderland's current crawling pace, it may or may not be enough.
Stay tuned.
